The United States has passed a law to ban TikTok in the state of Montana, effective from January 1, 2567 B.E. (2024 A.D.). ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is prohibited from operating in any form within the state of Montana.
According to the law in the United States, it has been specified that if users violate the regulations, they will be fined $10,000 or approximately 344,000 Thai Baht per violation per day. ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is solely responsible for paying these fines.
The reason TikTok was banned in Montana is because the state's highest prosecutor's office stated that TikTok is a tool used by the Chinese government to influence the people of Montana. The United States government also agrees with this assessment.
Regarding ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, they have stated that they will continue to fight for TikTok users and have indicated that the US government has gone a bit too far in restricting the freedom of speech of the people.
As for Apple and Google, there hasn't been an official response from them regarding this law. We will have to wait and see how these companies will handle the situation.
However, some people are considering using VPNs as a solution to this issue. It is speculated that if the United States continues to target the parent company, ByteDance, it may affect TikTok's availability in Montana. We will have to continue following up to see if, in the next seven months, ByteDance can still make TikTok accessible in Montana or not.
